Several key evidence-based interventions related to blood pressure control and smoking cessation. Appropriate for leadership, nurses, and therapists. There are 1.5 hours CEs for Nursing (ANCC) available.

This continuing nursing education activity was approved by the Alabama State Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation for 1.5 hour contact hours.

To be eligible for the nursing continuing education credit(s), the learner must complete each portion of this education course.  The continuing education credits are valid for this course through 01/20/21.

All of the following educational activities must be completed:   

  • Read the Fundamental Focus:  Blood Pressure Control and Smoking Cessation Best Practice Intervention Package   (65 minutes)
  • Watch Smoking Joe Podcast (10 minutes)
  • Complete evaluation/post-test (10 minutes)

At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe three interventions to assist with patient blood pressure control.
  2. Describe three interventions to assist patients with smoking cessation.
  3. Identify one new teaching method to actively engage patients with cardiovascular health.
